For high-functioning people

You function. But your system can no longer find rest.

You carry responsibility, make decisions, deliver. On the outside it works. On the inside you notice that your system is under constant pressure: tension that does not let up, procrastination despite clarity, exhaustion despite success, doubts that linger after decisions. That is not a discipline problem. It is your nervous system under load. That is exactly where we start.

Take the nervous-system profile
How you notice it

How you know you are in the right place

You think too much and act too little.

You avoid administrative or structural tasks even though you know their importance.

You function professionally but are inwardly exhausted or irritable.

You switch between over-controlling and withdrawing.

You are not looking for another business strategy, but for a psychologically sound form of execution.

You don’t need the next strategy. You need the level beneath it.

Why discipline is not enough

Why more discipline won’t make this go away

Under pressure, behaviour is not governed by insight but by learned patterns in the nervous system, the body and relational history. That is why understanding alone often is not enough. Change requires embodiment. This is why classic business coaching reaches its limits with high-functioning, reflective people: you have long understood the strategy. What is missing is not another model. What is missing is access to the level at which your system actually decides under pressure.

How I work

How I work

I combine psychological precision with body-oriented practice. We look at your patterns not abstractly but where they actually show up in daily life: before decisions, in avoidance, in states of tension, under performance pressure, in the moments when your system tips.

Methodologically I work integratively and case-specifically: informed by Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and body-oriented approaches, grounded in my own neuroscientific research. No single-school approach, but an adaptive selection of what fits you and your concern.

Frequently asked questions

Why do competent people procrastinate despite high motivation?

Procrastination in competent people is rarely a motivation or discipline problem. It is often a protective response of the nervous system to perceived threat. Complex decisions, high responsibility or tasks with a strong identity stake activate neural circuits tied to safety and avoidance. The result is avoidance, even though the person rationally wants to prioritise the task.

What is the difference between psychological counselling and business coaching?

Business coaching works mainly at the level of strategy and behaviour. It is helpful when clarity and knowledge are missing. When understanding and knowledge are already there and blocks still appear, the cause usually lies deeper: in the nervous system, protective patterns and body memory. Psychological counselling addresses exactly that level. It complements coaching where coaching reaches its limits.

Does this help even if I appear successful on the outside?

Yes. Many clients come from exactly that state. High outward functionality combined with inner exhaustion, tension or a loss of meaning is a typical pattern for high-functioning people. The counselling does not start from the assumption of a crisis, but from the assumption of an overloaded or dysregulated self-regulation.

Is this therapy?

No. I offer psychological counselling and coaching on the basis of an M.Sc. in Psychology with a neuroscience specialisation. This is not medical treatment under the German Heilpraktikergesetz and is not a substitute for medical or psychotherapeutic care. In acute mental health crises please contact your GP, a psychotherapist, the medical emergency line (116117) or the telephone counselling service (0800 1110111).

How does a 50-minute online session work?

Via an encrypted video connection. We start with what is on your mind right now, work with what shows up in the moment, and look at the end at what you take away from the session. Depending on the topic, breathwork, somatic exercises or cognitive reflection may flow in. Clear, calm, precise.

What if my income is irregular?

For irregular income there is the reduced rate and, in limited numbers, the solidarity rate. We clarify the right tier together in the free intro call.

Can I come if my main issue is decision stress?

Yes. Decision backlogs, rumination loops and second-guessing decisions already made are among the most common concerns my clients bring. We work on the patterns activated under pressure, not on the individual decisions.
